This is one of our favorite clocks that can also play as a lamp that symbolizes the spirit of the great clock of the Big Ben Tower. The hands are battery powered while the lamp is run by electric. An adapter is provided in the package. The adopter needs an outlet converter that is not provided and only costs max $8.  There is a switch button under the clock that can be turned off and on whenever you desire to use the Lamp.  The adapter does not need to be connected if you do not use the lamp since the clock itself runs by battery.
